Learn MoreReach out by phone or through the contact form. We will get back to you within 1 business day to ask a few questions about your project, the size of the area, and what you are hoping to do. No commitment required at this stage.
A member of our crew comes to your property to measure the space, check the ground conditions, and look at anything that might affect the job. You get a written quote that breaks out every cost, including demolition, base prep, the pour, and permit fees. No phone estimates, no vague ballparks.
Once you approve the quote, we pull required permits, schedule the pour for early morning to manage the Laredo heat, and complete the work within the agreed timeline. Before we leave, we walk through the finished project with you and explain care and sealing recommendations.
We hold a current Texas contractor registration and carry general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. You are protected from the first day on the job to the last.
We have been pouring concrete in Laredo and South Texas since 2022. We know the clay soil, the summer heat, and the permit process at the City of Laredo Development Services better than a contractor from out of town ever will.
Every estimate starts with a visit to your property. We measure the space, check the ground, and give you a written quote that covers the full scope. You owe us nothing for the estimate.
We back every job we do. If a defect related to our installation shows up after we leave, we come back to address it. We will explain the warranty in detail during the final walkthrough.

"They poured my driveway in late October and finished in two days. The pour started before 7 in the morning both days, which made sense given the heat. Exactly what I was quoted, no extra charges. Looks solid a year later."

"Had a cracked patio in the backyard that kept getting worse every rainy season. They came out, explained why the base had failed, and replaced the whole thing. The slope is right this time, water runs off instead of pooling near the house."

"Went with stamped concrete for the front walkway and was nervous about the pattern coming out right. The crew was fast and the result matched the sample they showed me. Neighbors have asked about it."

Yes. When temperatures exceed 100°F, concrete loses surface moisture faster than it can cure properly, which causes cracking before the slab has reached its full strength. Experienced local contractors schedule pours for early morning and use additives to manage the set time.
The main reason is the clay-heavy soil under most of Laredo. Clay swells when it rains and shrinks during dry spells, and that movement stresses the concrete slab from below. Proper base compaction and correct slab thickness are the two most effective countermeasures.
Standard residential flatwork is poured four inches thick. If the surface will carry heavy vehicles or equipment, five to six inches is recommended. The Portland Cement Association publishes thickness guidelines at{' '} cement.org and they are worth a quick read before you get quotes.
When cracks are wider than a quarter-inch, when sections have shifted up or down relative to each other, or when the base has clearly moved, patching buys time at best. A new pour with proper ground preparation is the durable fix.
Control joints are shallow grooves cut into the surface at regular intervals. They give the slab a planned place to crack as it expands and contracts with temperature changes, keeping those cracks small and nearly invisible instead of random and large.
Concrete performs significantly better in extreme heat. Asphalt softens and ruts when surface temperatures exceed 140°F, which is common on exposed Laredo pavement in summer. Concrete stays rigid and has a longer service life in hot, dry climates. The{' '} American Concrete Institute at concrete.org covers comparative performance in detail.
For technical standards on concrete mix design and curing, see the Portland Cement Association.

When cracks are shifting or wider than a quarter-inch, patching will not fix the underlying soil movement. Replacement with proper base preparation is the lasting solution.
You can walk on most flatwork after 24 to 48 hours. Vehicles should stay off a driveway for at least seven days. Full strength develops over 28 days.
Laredo's intense UV exposure and heat break down unprotected concrete surfaces faster than in northern climates. Sealing every two to three years significantly extends surface life.

Laredo is the tenth-largest city in Texas, home to about 255,000 people and one of the most significant international trade hubs in the country. The city sits directly on the Rio Grande across from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, and handles more cross-border trade by land than any other U.S. port of entry. According to U.S. Census data, Laredo has grown steadily over the past two decades, with neighborhoods spreading from the historic downtown core out to newer subdivisions across the north side.
From the historic San Agustin Plaza near the river to the newer subdivisions of North Laredo like Del Mar Hills and Winfield, the city covers a wide range of home ages and property types. Older homes near downtown tend to have smaller lots and original concrete work from decades past, while newer construction on the north side has larger footprints and concrete slabs that are approaching their first major maintenance window. Residents use Mall del Norte as a central reference point in the city, and most of our North Laredo project work is concentrated in neighborhoods nearby.
Laredo is known across Texas for its Washington's Birthday Celebration, one of the largest and longest-running festivals in the state, held every February with parades, a carnival, and the Jalapeño Festival. Nearly every long-time Laredo resident has attended at least once. The city also has one of the highest rates of long-term homeownership in Texas, with deep local roots and a strong sense of community investment, which is why so many homeowners here ask us about solutions that will hold up for decades rather than temporary fixes.
Premier Laredo Concrete has worked on concrete projects throughout Laredo, including neighborhoods in both the older core and the newer North Laredo developments. We understand the clay soil conditions, the permit process at the City of Laredo, and the heat management that South Texas concrete work requires. If you are anywhere in the city, we can typically schedule a free on-site estimate within the same week.
